Our students and families are deeply committed to their own educational success all of the participants in our program have committed to working with Breakthrough for 6 years by the time that they join. Here’s a snapshot of those six years.
6th Grade
- Spring: Welcome to Breakthrough, attend orientation.
- Summer: Attend six-week session at Santa Fe Preparatory School
7th Grade
- Fall/Spring: Super Saturday once a month
- Summer: Attend six-week session at Santa Fe Preparatory School
8th Grade
- Fall/Spring: Super Saturday once a month
- Fall/Spring: High School Options Night
- Summer: Return to Breakthrough College Bound for a 2-week session
9th Grade
- Fall: High School Re-Orientation
- Fall: Register for college prep classes for freshman year
- Fall: Super Saturday once a month
- Summer: Return to Breakthrough College Bound for a 1-week session
10th Grade
- Introductions to summer camps/internships/community service
- Fall: Take the PSAT (practice college entrance test)
- Spring: Super Saturday once a month
- Spring: College visits
- Summer: Return to Breakthrough College Bound for a 1-week session
11th Grade
- Spring: Prep for the ACT (college entrance test)
- Spring: Meet with college counselor
- Spring: Colorado Trip (visit 3 college campuses in Colorado)
- Spring: Set up summer internship/community service
- Summer: Return to Breakthrough College Bound for a 2-week session
12th Grade
- Fall: Apply to college!
- Fall: Apply for financial aid and scholarships
- Spring: Set up summer internship/community service
- Spring: Then, it’s off to college!
